|  | How do I get started? Once you have decided to take up Krav Maga classes, please call us or come meet us in our studio / local contact address. After paying the monthly fees and registration / admission fees, you will be registered with the International Krav Maga Federation and would receive a IKMF passport. Membership / passport with the IKMF (International Krav Maga Federation) gives you access to train in all IKMF branches in all over the world as well as training in seminaries and courses with IKMF instructors world wide. While enrolling, you might be also asked for identification or other documents as per the rules of that particular center.
What should I wear to class?Trainers, jogging bottoms and a T-shirt are all that is required to start. Eventually you will want to purchase a Krav Maga uniform, consisting of a white T-shirt and black trousers, which are available through your instructor.
Must I buy protection gear? Although not compulsory, the following equipment is highly recommended:

What sort of people participate?Krav Maga is suitable for men and women of all ages and all levels of fitness. People who practice and study Krav Maga are those seeking to challenge themselves, find their limitations and go beyond them. Krav Maga offers the practitioner a comprehensive package of self-defence, fitness and a great deal of fun in a friendly training environment. Our practitioners range from those who have no previous martial arts experience, to those who have practiced for more than 20 years.
As a women, can I train without men?We do have women only classes for beginners to get used to the Krav Maga techniques and tactics. However as you progress, since your motive is to learn how to fight and defend yourself in the street , following Survival Stress Management, we would highly recommend training with men. Since its a reality based Self Defence system, you would however notice not even 1 percentage of sexual attackers are women. Training with men of all sizes, age and weight will boost your self-confidence and self-esteem to a level where you can easily handle an attack or similar situation in the street plus make you believe in the system of Krav Maga where body strength of a women is not required to escape from a bigger stronger male opponent.
What if I miss one or two classes?As per our schedule you can take minimum of 8 classes in a month. So even if you miss one of the classes, you can take any other class instead. Just inform you instructor of the same preferably before you miss that days class so you can be allotted another date or time for your replacement class. However, if you fail to take minimum 8 classes in a month, you will NOT be refunded for that month missed classes and your missed classes will NOT be rolled over to the next month.
Can we take classes as a couple?Why not? What better way to ensure that your better half is as prepared to face an attacker as you are? As an added bonus you are guaranteed a workout and training partner in your house as well.
Is Krav Maga suitable for all women?Unfortunately, in today's violent society, women are often the victims of attacks. Krav Maga has proved popular with women in the United States and Europe because it does not rely solely on size or strength to be effective. Additionally, the realistic methods of training have given many women the confidence to react effectively, even under the stress of an attack on ground or standing. Krav Maga is also gaining a lot of popularity amongst Indian women too due its tactics and techniques not based on one's strength and power. Plus its a hit amongst the fitness buffs as from one session one can loose around 800+ calories.
Can Krav Maga train me to defend in a sari?Yes, Krav Maga is very adaptive to any circumstantial conditions or practitioners restrictions. Whether you are wearing a seat belt in a car, in a standing in a crowded bus or wearing any kind of restrictive dress code like Indian sari etc, Krav Maga has solutions. Enquire with your instructor to such special classes with special dress codes or other situations.
Will I be intimidated when start training?New practitioner — men and women — sometime feel uncomfortable at the beginning of training, but classes have a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and beginners are made to feel welcome. New practitioners move at their own pace until they are confident with the basic techniques before advancing. However, every
practitioner must realize this is Self Defence class so at some point they would have to have combat training with another man / women.
What happens in class? Will I get injured?Classes begin with a thorough warm-up. Then, depending on which class is being taught, we will decide what techniques to practice. Krav Maga is as relatively safe as any other martial arts form. However, even though as instructors we always supervise all training and sparing, the risk of getting injured is remote but still present. Krav Maga is taught in an atmosphere as realistic as possible — and in any physical activity there is always the danger of accidents — but safety is always the main priority. Sparring is closely supervised at all times. We have basic first aid and nearby hospital doctor's facility upon any emergency.
Is you liable if I am injured?No. Prior to participating in any program, activity, or exercise you should seek the advice of your physician and other qualified health-care professionals. Your Instructor will make you understand that these exercises are strenuous or high intensity and the physical danger thereof and will give knowledge of some of the techniques and risks involved. Participation to Krav Maga Self Defence programs, seminars, workshops or Cardio fitness workouts will be entirely at sole discretion and risk of the participant and his/her parent and guardian. You by signing up agree and accept all risks and to hold IKMF India and all its branches, it's Administration and Staff/Board, IKMF, Israel or India, Ultimate Tactical and Combat Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Vicky Kapoor, the instructors, assistant instructors, and all other members of my class harmless from all liability, injury, and damages in connection with my participation in all Krav Maga classes, workouts, and exams.
Are there belts, exams or a grading system?A core belief of Krav Maga is that the ability to remain safe and effectively execute self-defence techniques under pressure matter far more than receiving a new color belt. However, we do recognize that aiming for a higher grade can motivate people to train harder, and therefore improve.

How is the quality of training KM maintained? Quality of training in Krav Maga in maintained at two sources: one by the country chief instructor and one by the israeli instructor. Every Krav Maga practitioners who has attended at least 32 classes in roughly 3-4 months will be graded by Mr. Vicky Kapoor, our country head Director and Chief Instructor through a Test / Grading exam. Similarly, a high level instructor from IKMF, Israel will also be coming regularly to conduct such examinations of senior students. This process of high level instructors checking every students / instructors of Krav Maga in the country ensures the quality of Krav Maga techniques remains high all over the world and also ensures that it does not deteriorate through the system of learning or changed / modified by anybody from teacher to practitioner.
How fast can I be a Krav Maga expert?Krav Maga, unlike many other martial arts, is a very fast-progressing system. Part of its design was driven by the need to train people very quickly and very efficiently. Consequently, it typically takes a person of average physical ability perhaps only several months before significant progress is achieved and noticeable.
Is it true Krav Maga develops personality?Krav Maga is dedicated to providing a safe and family-oriented martial arts experience with underlying goal to build the mental and physical capabilities necessary for identifying and remedying a wide variety of attacks. The training intensity level escalates incrementally with the intent of gradually increasing students’ combative abilities, self-confidence and to boost their self-efficacy. Such a training foster self-improvement and personal development while promoting physical fitness and positive social interaction in a courteous and fun atmosphere. Even after a class, all practitioners carry on the confidence and self-improvement on with them, whether in their career or personal lives as leaders in the there respective community concentration on solutions to all problems irrespective of all odds, stress or limitations.

I want to spar, is that available?You bet! Krav Maga offers classes that include sparring (with all protection and safety gears- gloves, shin guards, mouthpiece, and head protection whenever available). In these classes, we focus on movement, combinations, technique, and mind set during actual combat. Please mention these requirement to your instructor.
I'm a short and weak, what good is Krav Maga to me?Krav Maga was designed to benefit the average person. The system is not about sheer strength or power. As a matter of fact one of the basic tenets of Krav Maga is that one should not oppose power with power. Rather, Krav Maga blends a combination of physical skill with mental self-defence determination. Consequently Krav Maga, is more accessible to more people of either sex, shape or size than many other martial art forms.
What if I'm not sure about joining a class?We recommend that you come down to our studio to take a look. This class is designed for individuals new to Krav Maga and we will go over beginner level techniques needed to know for beginner classes. Also at this time, you can meet with the instructor to go over the different programs and training options that we have available. There is no obligation whatsoever. Email or call us to set up a time for you to explore Krav Maga. However to participate or practice Krav Maga in the class, you would have to enroll for at least a month. Its takes minimum 3 months to reach any level of competency in Krav Maga Self Defence.

Krav Maga is the official system of hand-to-hand combat and self-defence employed by the Israeli defence Forces (IDF), Security Forces, the Israeli Police and Military Police and its Special Operations and Anti-Terrorist Units. The IDF including their Special Forces Units, Israeli Police, and Internal Security Branches currently uses this style on a day-to-day basis. Krav Maga is taught to all ages and abilities, at community centers, schools, and clubs throughout the world. Krav Maga is taught to Sky Marshals and commercial airline crews. It is also taught in Australia, the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, United Kingdom, Ireland, Croatia, France, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Russia, Italy, Poland, Japan, Thailand, Slovakia, Hungary, Serbia, New Zealand and India.
